Rosario Dawson is the executive producer of “Lost in America.” The documentary focuses on youth homelessness. The topic actually hits close to home for her because she adopted her daughter out of foster care.
Lola was 11-years-old and in her fifth foster care placement when Rosario brought her home in 2014. While the child doesn’t realize how close she actually was to being homeless, the actress is trying to make her understand. She told her. “I’m coming to pick her up with her stuff in garbage bags it’s like, ‘That’s not just leaving a home situation to just try out another home. That’s you being homeless until you found your forever home.’”
The 16-year-old is finally grasping the concept, thanks to her mom. And sadly, she’s not the only one who may eventually have to get there. “[Homelessness] isn’t a choice,” Rosario noted. “This is a situation that a lot of people are a paycheck away from and they don’t realize.”

Rosario’s man, Senator Cory Booker, told Wendy Williams that he’s thinking of making her his permanent running mate. “This is something really special,” the presidential hopeful said. “She's challenged me in ways that I needed to be.” He even described the kind of ring he’d get her. “She is this righteous activist, she has a fashion line in Africa about empowering women, so whatever I get will be conscious and that will reflect the values of a couple should I decide to do this.”
