As today’s impeachment hearing gets underway, it’s been confirmed that the State Department official who claims to have overheard President Trump discussing Ukraine investigations in a phone call will testify in public.
David Holmes gave a deposition behind closed-doors last week, confirming testimony from the acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor. Taylor told lawmakers that Holmes had overheard President Trump asking Gordon Sondland about Ukraine investigating Joe Biden and his son. Holmes is set to testify alongside Fiona Hill on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the President says via Twitter that he will "strongly consider" submitting written testimony in the House impeachment investigation. “Even though I did nothing wrong, and don’t like giving credibility to this No Due Process Hoax,” he writes. “I like the idea & will, in order to get Congress focused again, strongly consider it!”
- As we told you yesterday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested Trump should testify during an appearance on CBS' Face the Nation. Trump touched on that, too – calling it "DEFACE THE NATION." He also said "Nervous Nancy Pelosi" is "petrified by her Radical Left knowing she will soon be gone." There’s been no comment from Pelosi
