(Battle Creek, MI) -- President Trump is getting groans from Michigan supporters after joking that a respected Michigan lawmaker is "looking up" from hell.
During his rally in Battle Creek Wednesday, Trump said he remembered calling Michigan Democrat Debbie Dingell after the funeral of her husband, former Congressman John Dingell, to pay his respects, and recollected her saying that John Dingell was "looking down" at the ceremonies.
On Wednesday night, Trump joked, "Maybe he's looking up." The joke got groans from the Michigan audience, where John Dingell served as a member of Congress from 1955 to 2015.
