(Providence, RI)--Former Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was a participant in a round-table discussion about gun violence at the Rhode Island State House on Thursday.Giffords, who survived a shooting in 2011, discussed enacting tougher gun control measures with a group including law enforcement members and other survivors of gun violence.One of them was East Greenwich native Erica Keuter, who was at the 2017 Las Vegas concert that turned into the deadliest shooting in U.S. history, and Cranston woman Theresa Moretti, the grandmother of one of the children killed in the Sandy Hook school shooting in Connecticut in 2012.Governor Gina Raimondo signed a "red flag" gun law in 2018 and a bill banning bump stocks the same year; this year, several gun bills are being considered by the General Assembly.
