(Providence, RI)--The Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission has approved a contract to have all three of the state's electric utilities buy power from a large solar project in Connecticut.The 20-year agreement involving National Grid, the Pascoag Utility District and the Block Island Utility District is with D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments.The 50-megawatt project is called Gravel Pit Solar.
