Governor: Good Trends Needed To Get Rhode Island Reopened

(Providence, RI)--Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo says statistical coronavirus trends will be key to removing the state's stay-at-home order on May 9th and to moving through a phased economic re-opening.Raimondo says the state either needs a two-week downward trend in the number of new cases or a two-week trend in stabilizing or declining hospitalizations.The number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the state went up by eight yesterday; it was the third straight day with a decrease in the number of positive cases from the previous day.The governor said Monday that the state's coronavirus picture is overall very stable and that the numbers indicate a plateau.
