(Kingston, RI)--Researchers on board the University of Rhode Island Research Vessel Endeavor are back from a mission during which they observed the beginning of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic in ocean isolation.The Endeavor was in the tropical Atlantic for a climate change study focusing on sediment cores from the ocean floor, which began in February.When the mission was over, the researchers were going to fly out of Europe, but because of travel restrictions, they stayed on the Endeavor and shipped back to Narragansett from Cape Verde on a two-week trip.
