(Providence, RI)--The city of Providence is asking restaurants to register on the city website for a free, temporary license if they are considering expanded outdoor dining as part of their re-opening plans.The city says applications are subject to approval from the city licensing department working with traffic and public safety officials.In addition, businesses that already have outdoor dining approved must amend their outdoor seating plan to reflect adherence to social distancing requirements.Restaurants can start offering outdoor dining next Monday.
