(Narragansett, RI)--A proposal in Narragansett that authorized the town police department to ignore violations of Governor Raimondo's coronavirus-related restrictions was withdrawn at last night's Town Council meeting.The proposal was from council president Matthew Mannix, who said he withdrew the resolution after multiple other council members publicly stated opposition.Mannix cited negative effects of the governor's orders and constitutional issues with the state's directive for fines to be imposed for the violations.
