(Newport, RI)--Wearing masks on select streets in downtown Newport is becoming mandatory.The Newport City Council voted on the mandate on Tuesday night, by a six-to-one vote.It is going into effect on Friday and is 24-hours for everyone except those for whom it would be harmful to wear masks.
