Governor Gina Raimondo says that she plans to announce the start date for Phase 3 of the reopening of Rhode Island on Monday, June 29th. That date was previously announced as the potential start date of Phase 3. However, in light of the recent surge in new cases in many U.S. states, the governor said she decided to take the weekend to continue to watch COVID-19 data in Rhode Island. The executive order which implemented current Phase 2 restrictions expires at the end of the day on Monday.
Phase 3 guidelines will allow larger crowds in both business and social settings, but social-distancing and wearing masks will still be required.
