(East Providence, RI) -- A cooling center opens today in East Providence. The East Providence Senior Center will do double duty as senior community center and as one of the city's several available cooling centers. Those who wish to cool off may do so at the center today starting at noon. The Riverside and Weaver public library branches are also participating in the cool down effort Monday and Tuesday. The unvaccinated have to wear a mask.
