(Central Falls, RI) -- The U.S. Justice Department says five people have been charged in a contraband scheme at the Wyatt Detention Center in Central Falls. A correctional officer at the facility and two inmates are accused of smuggling the opioid withdrawal medication Suboxone. Prosecutors say a former detainee who was released after claiming he was at heightened risk to contract COVID was also part of the scheme.
