The rate of coronavirus infections in Rhode Island continues surging. The state announced yesterday over 24-hundred new cases and six more deaths since Friday. The number of people hospitalized was at 230. As of Sunday, the state's positive test rate was up to eight-point-one percent.
Meantime, Governor McKee has announced a series of vaccination clinics across the state for Wednesday.
“We now know that Omicron is the most common variant in the United States, accounting for 73 percent of new COVID cases in the country,” Governor Dan McKee said. “But we have the tools to keep ourselves and our families safe this holiday season. Community based vaccination clinics will continue to be held across Rhode Island to make vaccines as accessible as possible. Getting vaccinated, and getting your booster when you're eligible, is the best way to protect yourselves and your loved ones.”
Clinics are set for 3pm to 4:30pm, in Little Compton at the Brownell Library.and two locations in Providence. One at the Judah Multicultural Center from 3 to 6 pm. and The Providence Children’s Museum from 4 to 7 pm.
