Governor McKee is out with his first Christmas message as Governor of the state.
“Christmas is a time for us to celebrate, enjoy the gift of hope, and reflect on all we’re thankful for. It’s a time when we gather together with our families, carry out traditions and remember what's most important to us. Like you, I’m grateful that this Christmas we will be able to spend more time with our loved ones in person because of all the Rhode Islanders who stepped up and got vaccinated.
On behalf of our state, I want to thank our military members – those serving in Rhode Island and overseas –and also our health care and other frontline workers who will continue working throughout the holidays to keep us safe. We are deeply grateful for you and your families.
To all those celebrating – Merry Christmas, and best wishes for a happy New Year.”
