A popular pizza shop owner in the East Bay has lost a battle with COVID-19.
Steve Balasco, who was 61, owned Balasco's Pizzeria in Warren for over three decades.
Balasco was reportedly stricken with COVID-related pneumonia.
His family released a statement calling Balasco a giant in the community who always put others first.
Funeral arrangements have not been released.
