Free COVID tests are set to arrive next week, but free masks are available now.
Walgreens will have N-95 masks starting today.
CVS began receiving them yesterday and Walmart expects to have them by the second week of February.
The government is making 400 million available to pick up at pharmacies and community health centers.
The move is on the advice of experts to upgrade from cloth masks for better protection against the omicron variant.
Meantime, Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee is announcing the distribution of a half-million additional COVID-19 at-home rapid tests.
They will be made available to cities, towns and community organizations over the next week.
That's on top of the five-hundred-thousand test kits the state received earlier this month.
