Booze With Your Take Out Order?

The Rhode Island General Assembly has approved a bill that permanently allows restaurants to sell alcoholic beverages in takeout orders.

The change was initially meant to be a temporary aid for the struggling industry to get through the coronavirus pandemic, but lawmakers said they couldn't ignore its popularity.

The state legislature has also approved a bill to allow restaurants to continue outdoor dining without seeking local municipal approval until April of 2023.

Governor Dan McKee tells is expected to sign both measures.
