The price of gasoline in Rhode Island is reaching a historic level.
RIGasPrices.com reported the average price for a gallon in the Ocean State was four dollars and 18 cents as of overnight Monday.
That's an increase of sixty cents per gallon from one week ago.
A lot of people were standing 5 and 10 cars deep in line to fill up this weekend -wanting to beat the big price hikes that they were expecting.
There are growing, bipartisan calls in Washington to ban Russian oil imports because of the invasion of Ukraine.
The White House press secretary has not confirmed speculation that President Biden will consider that action.
