There is no quick fix for Newport's Cliff Walk. A portion of it collapsed earlier this month.
No one was injured in the portion that is between Webster Street and Narragansett Avenue.
Now officials are trying to find a way to fix it.
At a Cliff Walk Commission meeting Tuesday officials say it could take months to repair the tourist attraction.
The Commission is considering hiring what has been described as a "geo-technical" firm to make the repairs a reality.
Mayor Joe Nicholson says the idea and the price tag will be presented to the city council at its meetings in either April or May.
At least one firm has already put in a bid to do the project.
As for cost, no one has any idea exactly how much it would cost. But State or Federal help will be needed.
Meantime, the Mayor tells WPRI TV that the exact cost of the project is up in the air because the exact nature of the project has not been decided.
Officials had previously said that the collapsed portion of the site will be closed off to the public through the summer and beyond.
