The Mask Mandate in the Providence School system is ending on Monday.
The new School Superintendent Dr Javier Montanez says after reviewing the data, he will allow masking to be optional in the system as of Monday.
While the Superintendent says the mask removal is a positive step forward in the schools, he warns that if cases increase than there will be a return to masking.
According to the latest information, about 44 percent of the students are vaccinated.
About 55 percent of the students across the state have been at least partially vaccinated.
