The start of the Major League Baseball season as far as the Red Sox and the Yankees are concerned will have to wait a little longer.
Play was set to begin tomorrow with baseball's bitterest rivals, the Yankees and the Red Sox getting it going at Yankee Stadium in the first of nine games on the schedule.
The Yankees announced this morning that their opening match up will be postponed until Friday at 1 pm Eastern due to heavy rain in the forecast.
The starting pitchers will remain the same.
Gerrit Cole for the Yankees and Nathan Eovaldi for the Red Sox.
