As coronavirus cases rise the CDC risk level is up from low to medium in four Rhode Island counties.Health experts say the highly contagious BA.2 omicron variant is a factor in Bristol, Kent, Newport and Washington counties. The case rate in the last week rose to more than two-hundred new cases per 100-thousand people. The CDC recommends that if you live in an area of increased Covid activity”
• If you are immuno-compromised or high risk, have a plan for testing and talk to your healthcare provider about treatment and whether you should wear a mask.
• If you have household or social contact with someone at high risk, consider self-testing and wearing a mask when indoors with them.
• Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters.
The advisory is based on new metrics.
