The surplus in the Rhode Island state budget is growing.
The amount of unspent money that is now projected for the fiscal year ending June 30th is about 900-million dollars.
That is an increase of about three-hundred-million from the previous prediction from the Office of Management and Budget.
The word of the extra cash in the coffers has already resurrected the call for a serious push for some kind of gas tax relief as the price at the pump has continued to rise.
Lawmakers have been slow to deal with the issue in the past wondering if the state could really afford such partial relief.
