In West Greenwich last night, a tragedy on Phelps Pond.
Two men drowned; a third man was saved.
A fire department spokesman says they were called to the scene about 8:30 Friday night.
It appears that the man who was saved – tried to rescue the two others.
Officials say the victims were from Providence.
