The Rhode Island Board of Elections is adopting new protocols for proofing and testing of ExpressVote machines, which had an issue in Providence during the September primaries.
Multiple errors were detected in the Spanish language version of the touchscreen devices during early voting.
The Board of Elections says it worked closely with the Secretary of State's office and the vendor, Election Systems and Software.
The SOS will now certify that it has reviewed that all ballot types, both printed and electronic, for accuracy.
Despite the multiple errors only four communities and a total of 55 ballots were in question.
