A Rhode Island man has been arrested on charges related to the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6th, 2021.
According to the FBI, William Cotton of Hopkinton is charged with entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building or grounds, and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.
Meantime, Cotton, in an interview with WPRI TV says that he doesn't remember much of what happened because he had suffered a stroke since then.
Cotton was alleged to have been in a large crowd that trespassed in the Senate Wing.
He is the third person from the Ocean State to face charges for the insurrection.
