The Providence School District has announced that two schools will be closed next year.
The teacher's union criticized school officials for not informing teachers and parents about the decision.
The union contends there is no plan.
Meantime, late word is that there will be a meeting among teachers and staff and that the two schools that will be closed mapping out what happens next.
Channel 12 reported a district spokesperson said closing the rundown buildings will not result in any layoffs.
Governor McKee said last night that closing the two crumbling schools is in the overall best interest of the students and the system- but he was not persoanlly aware of which schools were being closed.
