Providence Mayor Brett Smiley met with a spokesperson for the local community of dirt bike and ATV riders on Monday.
Smiley's administration last week announced a new crackdown on riding the vehicles which the mayor said did not belong on city streets.
Smiley said yesterday's conversation was productive and that riders are looking for a designated area to spin their wheels safely, as some other cities have allowed.
Smiley had previously said that it might be difficult to find a spot for the riders because the city limits are so dense.
