Industrial Wind Project Approved For Cape

The Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council is approving a certification for Revolution Wind.

The seven-hundred-megawatt wind farm between Block Island and Martha's Vineyard is one of several industrial wind farms that are being prepared for the Southern New England coast.

Construction on Revolution Wind could start after a record of decision is released by the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, which is expected this summer.

The Providence Journal reports the C-R-M-C certified the project on the condition that Ørsted and Eversource create a twelve-point-nine-million-dollar fund to compensate fishermen for any losses.
