Weather Provides Its Own Fireworks Across Region

Southern New England was hit with a ferocious Fourth of July storm on Tuesday afternoon.

Among the damage reports from the National Weather Service: the basement of an apartment complex on Beverage Hill Avenue in Pawtucket was compromised by flooding.

The American Red Cross is helping the residents who were displaced.

Elsewhere in Rhode Island, a tree went down near the Park Plaza Apartments in Johnston.

Two children were taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital with serious injuries.

Over in Bristol County, Massachusetts, flooding closed U.S. Route 6 and a lightning strike sparked a house fire in Swansea.
