Providence City Councilor Helen Anthony is being released from a hospital intensive care unit.
Anthony was struck by an all-terrain vehicle near the Point Lobos State Natural Reserve in California in June.
She was on vacation at the time.
The family has not indicated when Anthony will return.
The Ward 2 councilor represents the Blackstone, College Hill and Wayland neighborhoods.
