The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management is confirming sightings of the dangerous Portuguese man-o-war on South County beaches.
They resemble jellyfish, and swimmers who come in contact can get stung.
Man-o-wars were reported earlier this week at East Matunuck, Roger Wheeler, and Scarborough state beaches.
