Governor Dan McKee is announcing the launch of a new incentive program which was included in this year's state budget.
Residents who use fossil fuel heating and cooling appliances are eligible for a rebate if they purchase a heat pump.
The amount is one thousand dollars per ton for air source heat pumps and one-thousand-250 dollars per ton for ground source heat pumps.
Small and mid-sized businesses, as well as nonprofits, are also encouraged to apply online at Clean-Heat-RI-dot-com.
