Cape Cod and the Islands, as well as South Coast Massachusetts and coastal Rhode Island, are under a High Surf Advisory from the National Weather Service.
The advisory is in effect from now to 7 p.m. as Hurricane Nigel passes at a far distance offshore.
Large breaking waves of four-to-five feet are expected in the surf zone.
The possible impacts include localized beach erosion.
