Bourne, Governor At Odds Over Immigrants

The town of Bourne is in a showdown with Governor Maura Healey's administration over their migrant shelter emergency.

The Cape Cod Times reports the owner of the Eastern Inn near the Bourne Bridge has been informed by the state that it is legally OK to continue sheltering migrants.

Late last month, the Bourne Select Board and the board of health declared that they would enforce the rules that limit hotel guests to staying for three weeks.

Select Board Chair Mary Jane Mastrangelo says the board of health may discuss the issue further at a meeting on October 11th.
