A Providence woman is being sentenced to Massachusetts state prison after allegedly witnessing an overdose and not calling 911.
Emily Velez pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was ordered to serve three-to-five years behind bars.
Prosecutors say in November of 2021, Velez used fentanyl with a man at his home in North Attleboro, noticed he was unresponsive, and left without calling in the medical emergency.
