Federal Charges For Man Who Targeted Local Pawn Stores

A man is being charged in federal court for selling stolen gold coins in Rhode Island.

The Justice Department says William Dawson of Connecticut was indicted on one count of interstate transportation of property taken by fraud.

Earlier this year, Dawson allegedly wrote a check that bounced for gold coins found at an estate in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.

Prosecutors say he sold the coins at pawn shops in Pawtucket and Cranston for over a hundred-thousand dollars.
