Cannabis regulators in Rhode Island are expressing concern about the 2018 Farm Bill, and its allowance of hemp products and their derivatives beyond their scope.
CBD and hemp products are legal as long as they contain no more than zero-point-three percent of THC-also known as Delta 9, it is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis.
The regulators say the bill has permitted a so-called "shadow market" of unrelated potentially dangerous and addictive products.
Makers claim the concerns are unfounded, as they are not exceeding the Delta 9 limit.
