An accident during a fall event Saturday in Smithfield has left a girl seriously injured.
A fire official says that the incident occurred Saturday evening at Seven Cedars Farm Haunted Hayride.
The victim, a 14-year-old girl was one of the performers of the event; she was struck by a tractor and caught under the trailer the vehicle was hauling.
Farm operators say the hayride has been canceled for the remainder of the season.
The investigation is ongoing.
