Train Station Sparks Affordable Housing Opportunity

The Pawtucket-Central Falls train station has been open for nearly a year, with rail service north to Boston and as far south as Wickford.

Housing officials are interested in the changes the line has made.

Housing Works RI officials and Brown University students held a meeting Tuesday to consider transit-related development, which will create communities with the station as a hub of sorts.

The need for affordable housing is paramount, as the station could allow those who work in Boston to come south to live.
