Employees of a Providence Starbucks have announced their plan to file a union petition with the National Labor Relations Board.
The baristas of the One Financial Plaza Center store made their intentions known in a letter to Starbucks CEO Laxman Narasimhan-in it, they claim the company has not been candid about working hours, and has put the employees under adverse conditions.
This is the second Rhode Island Starbucks to attempt unionization; efforts at a Warwick store failed after the vote was considered too close to call.
