Former Providence Municipal Court Chief Judge Frank Caprio was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
In an emotional Facebook video released Wednesday - 87-year-old Caprio said he'll fight as hard as he can, and he asked for prayers.
He rose to prominence for his nationally syndicated TV show "Caught in Providence" in which he forgave parking violations.
Caprio retired earlier this year.
He is receiving treatment in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
