Rhode Island's newest member of Congress has been sworn in.
Representative Gabe Amo took the ceremonial oath of office at the U.S. District Court House on Sunday.
He was sworn in last month in Washington.
Amo won a special election to serve the 1st Congressional District, which includes Bristol and Newport Counties, as well as portions of Providence County and the city of Providence.
He replaces David Cicilline, who resigned.
A Democrat, Amo is the first-ever Black representative in the state.
