A woman was stabbed to death this morning in Providence.
A second stabbing victim was reported in serious condition.
Police said a man who fled the scene on Adelaide Avenue around 5 a.m. was taken into custody on Public Street.
It's the 14th murder of the year in the city.
At this time last year police say there were just 7.
Major David Lapatin of the Providence Police Department says the department still works very hard on cases, that they are not doing anything worse now than they did last year.
He says sometimes people are lucky and other times they are not.
