State Representative Robert Phillips has announced he will run for Mayor of Woonsocket.
Phillips, who has served District 51 since 2011, outlined his leadership credentials on Thursday, including his work with the local Jaycees and the Beacon Charter School System.
The Democratic representative's goal is to make the city more business-friendly and also increase transparency.
Christopher Beauchamp is currently serving out the term of Lisa Baldelli-Hunt; she resigned in November over scrutiny regarding a land deal she made as mayor with a former employer.
