The Deputy Chief of Providence's police department is leaving for a new position.
Kevin Lanni will become the new Traffic Tribunal Court Administrator-he will replace Dennis Gerstmeyer upon his retirement later this year.
Lanni will train under Gerstmayer until then. Lanni has served 27 years on the force.
His new duties will involve overseeing courtroom activities, including setting the calendar, scheduling, and preparing of cases.
