State Senator Frank Lombardo the Third has passed away at the age of 65.
The Senate announced Lombardo's death, with the cause said to be bladder cancer.
The six-term Democratic lawmaker was recalled with respect - Senate President Dominick Ruggiero praised Lombardo for his kindness and generosity and for his courage in the face of his illness.
Lombardo was first elected to the Senate in 2010.
Funeral Services have not been released.
