Brown Adjusts Admission Standards

Brown University will reinstate standardized testing requirements as part of the admissions process.

This will require prospective students to submit either SAT or ACT scores, effective in the next admissions cycle.

In this, Brown follows Dartmouth, MIT, and Yale in dropping the "test-optional" policy, which was put in place during the coronavirus pandemic.

While Brown will again call for the tests, nearly two thousand colleges and universities have chosen not to require the exams.
