Light Turnout For State Presidential Primary

The Rhode Island primary is today. With President Joe Biden and his predecessor Donald Trump having already secured enough delegates to gain their respective parties' nominations, turnout is expected to be low.

Secretary of State Gregg Amore says the turnout of registered voters is likely to be lower than 20 percent.

Amore notes that voters will also choose delegates to represent them at the national conventions.

Polls will be open from now until 8 p.m., while Block Island will not open until noon.

Voters can check their polling station location by going to Vote R-I dot gov.
